I would like to write some custom reports in Microsoft CRM 4.0. I have been reading the requirements for installion of SQL 2008 but really do not understand. Are you able to guide me in this – step by step? I want to write the reports from a client machine which runs XP. The SQL 2008 version we have is the Small Business version. Our CRM is running from a server. I have no knowledge of server installations but if you told me what is necessary the IT person here could do the installation part.

    Thanks so much.

    Hi Ashish,

In reference to JavaScript conversion tools, I am curious if you’ve seen my CRM Migration Assistant:

If not, download the trial and let me know what you think. Suggestion and feedback are always welcome.

    Thanks, Mitch

      Hi Anish
There is no certain way of doing this except trying to write your query in advanced find and then downloading the fetchXML. This would be the easiest and recommended way.

      Thanks
      Ashish

    Hi Ashish,
I worked with you on the bop system for the state of pa. I am using scribe to migrate annotations from a 4.0 app to 2011 app. All worked well until we got to the annotations with large attachments. I already changed the setting on the System Setting’s email tab to the largest setting allowed. Is there any other settings that I can change to allow these to import.
    Thanks, Sue

      Hi Susan,
I hope all is well. You can increase the attachment size by 2 ways:
1.) By increasing the attachment size as you described above which can hold a maximum value of 32MB
2.) by running the following update statements on you SQL database, I would recommend trying this on development server first.

select IntColumn from ServerSettingsProperties where columnname=’ImportMaxAllowedFileSizeInMB’
Update ServerSettingsProperties set IntColumn = 10 where columnname=’ImportMaxAllowedFileSizeInMB’

If these two methods do not help getting all the attachments migrated, I would say this is a good time to start thinking in the direction of using MSFT SharePoint for saving files in CRM.

      Thanks, Ashish

    Hi Ashish,

This is Rekha from ARC and we have come across this issue where the Order Form is not picking up the Shipping Addresses from the Quote. I’ve looked at all the mappings and they’re good. Could you suggest other areas that I could look at for resolving this issue?

    Thanks
    Rekha

      Hi Rekha,
There can be a number of reason behind this including field mappings or custom silverlight application mappings. I would suggest you to open a support case and I will be able to work with you on this. It wont take long enough to figure out the core issue.

    Hi Ashish,

We have been using the “PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR CRM 2011” module for about a year now and see that it is no longer in the marketplace.

I was hoping to make some customizations to it, but see that everything is locked.

Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help.

    Thank You,

    Chris

    Hello Ashish,

I am a new end user of CRM 2011 and I have need to add the Lookup Address as in Quote Entity for the Opportunity Entity. I found your post dated January 24, 2012 describing how this is done and I was able to copy the script to a new web resource. I do not understand how to do your step 3 adding XML commands to the ribbondiffxml adding the button. Do you have directions on how to accomplish this?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Michael
